Fourth Round Retesting

This fourth round of retesting comprised the first retests of Standards 32–45 from Exam 3, the second retests of Standards 20–31 from Exam 2, the third retests of Standards 8–19 from Exam 1, and the fourth retests of Standards 1–7 from Quiz 1.  If you hadn't satisfied a standard from Exam 3, you were automatically eligible for the first retest.  If you hadn't satisfied an earlier standard, you needed to review the material with an instructor or TA to access its retest.

Notes

Standard 18 Retest 3. There was a problem with the random number generator in the third question. It was supposed to produce values for the coefficient of kinetic friction between 0 and 1; instead, it returned either zero or one. Fortunately, it was still possible to calculate answers to the questions, but the scenario wasn't as realistic as I would have liked.  I think I have repaired this glitch for the future.

Standard 27 Retest 3.  In question 3, the vectors were specified using “hat” notation, in which a vector is given as a sum of vectors in the coordinate directions.  I had not gone over that notation in class.  I hope that everyone who encountered it in the quiz either had seen that notation before or asked me what it meant.  I'm pretty sure that the next retest on Standard 27 does not include any questions using hat notation.
