Homework 16: Look Back on the Semester
Friday, December 2, 2011
20 points

This homework should be submitted as a hard copy, on actual paper.  And yes, it is due in the same class as the Unit 15 homework.  But that’s okay; you will have time in class to do it.

Answer one of the following questions.

  1. Memory lane.
  2. What is your most striking memory from this class this semester?  It doesn’t have to be something that was taught in class (though it could be), but it should be something that actually happened.  It could be a demonstration, something I said offhandedly, a labor, or the fact that you fell in love with a classmate.  Tell the story.

You won’t be docked points if you tell me about something you didn’t like.  My hope in asking this question is to understand the class from your perspective.

  3. What did you learn?
  4. Identify one thing that you learned (about physics or chemistry) in this class this semester.  Also explain why you chose to identify that particular thing.  Was something about it notable, interesting, horrifying, or useful?

  5. Muddiest point.
  6. Do you feel that everything made sense in class this semester?  If not, let me know what didn’t.  Write in a paragraph or three what isn’t clear, how much of it you think you understand, and what doesn’t fit.

This refers to the entire semester, not just what we covered since the last homework.

Please submit your homework in hard copy. Please do not submit it electronically!  I plan to sit comfortably while reading your homework.  I do not intend to be trapped in front of a computer.  As usual, please do not submit on paper with ragged edges.  If you write your answer in a spiral-bound notebook, please trim the edge before submitting.
