First, access the Sakai portal at wyosakai.uwyo.edu/xsl-portal. This prompts you for a username and password. If you don’t have a username and password yet (because you have not used a Sakai course before), create a new account by selecting the “I’m a new user, sign me up” link. Once there, enter the required information and then click the “Create Account” button.
When you log in to your Sakai account, you are placed at your “My Workspace” page. Now you need to actually join PHYS 1090.
On the left is a box with the heading “MY SETTINGS”. Below in that box, click the “Membership” link.
This takes you to the “Membership” page. In a gray bar under the “Membership” heading are two links, one to “My Current Sites” and the other to “Joinable Sites”. Since you are not currently a member of PHYS 1090, you need to join it. Click on the “Joinable Sites” link.
This takes you to a page listing all the sites that can be joined. Find this course (you may need to advance a few pages). It is listed as “PHYS 1090-01 Sp 09 Fundamentals of the Physical Universe (Barrans, Sp 09)”. Click on its “Join” link, and you’re in. A link to the course will now be displayed in the tan “Quicklinks” bar near the top of the page.
Clicking on the link takes you directly to the course.
If you join a class you didn't mean to join, it's easy to “unjoin.” In the “membership” page, each class you have joined has an “Unjoin” link. Click on the link, confirm your action, and you are out.
To take a drill, first enter the course by clicking on its link in the tan “Quicklinks” bar. Find the “Course Tools” box on the left and click on the “Tests & Quizzes” link. This takes you to a page listing all the assessments available for you to take.
